Wanted To Love It, But...

The area is beautiful and the campground was very nice and well kept. The Scrubgrass creek runs through the center of the grounds and it was fun watching kids, dogs, and adults all playing in the creek. The Allegheny river is walking distance down the creek or a trail from the campground. Now for the down sides (for me): No online reservations. They are done via email or phone. Not a deal breaker. Cash or check ONLY. No cards. The young lady at the check in counter had to look through a 3 ring binder for our reservation and didn't know where we were supposed to stay. There is no map of the campground other than a hand drawn map at the camp store and it doesn't include one whole side of the campground. The campground seems to cater to seasonals. The seasonals all let their dogs run free around the camp. Only saw 2 people keep their dogs on leashes. The biggest problem I had was the smoldering trash pile. There is a dumpster on the one side of the camp. The smell permeates the camp.

Nice People, Nice Area

Full hook ups right along Creek, sit and relax, float in water, swinging bridge. Will make this a trip every year for a long weekend or more.
