Incompetent Staff

When we pulled in we had a discussion with two campers from New Jersey only to discover that even though one of their sites was reserved and paid for there was a squatter on one of their sites. They tried knocking on the squatters door but they wouldn’t answer, so they went to the park office for help. The help they got was a joke. Lady in the park office said why don’t you folks just share a site even though she acknowledged that the squatters registered and should have been on a different site. No park ranger to be found so these folks from New Jersey doubled up on one site and made the best of it. The squatters sneaked out whenever the good folks weren’t at the campground. This was our second time camping at Hyner Run and our last. Law enforcement is a joke and basically reservations doesn’t meaanything. We have camped at 29 different PA DCNR campgrounds in the last two seasons and have never witnessed a don’t give a dam attitude like the staff at Hyner. We will never be back!

Small camp grown few with electric. Great pool but cold water. Nice bathrooms. Small park but very nice. Locals come to swim. Lots of bear - take your supplies with you only one grocery in town. Lots of beauty some fishing

Small Campground Many Offerings

We went here in the beginning of April and ended up being only one of two campers! Spacious level campsites for easy setup. There are several hiking trails in and around Hyner run. It also offers a small pool and nice bathroom and shower facilities. A small playground but a nice creek for kids to play in. A short drive to Hyner view is well worth it. Many areas to hike, bike and kayak near by as well.
