Large Campground
Large campground but I wish more sites were electric. Many water sites but just a few with electric. The dump station has 2 ports, so the line is long on Sundays. There is only one water fill area and it gets long lines. They do keep a section open all year, that's a nice feature. Some sites are small and lack privacy. Not all bathrooms have showers. Bathrooms and roads need work. Staff are friendly and helpful. However, storm warnings were in the area, we asked at the gate if they have a storm shelter, they had no idea. When Tornado sirens went off, we went to the cement block restroom and were the only ones there. There is a grocery store (Sparkle), laundromat, Sheetz and post office with 3 mies of campground. Hermitage area has a large variety of restraunts. I would recommend and stay again.

This is a poor example of how wonderful it can be to come to a COE. Side note you have to pay extra for electric, 30amp, not normal for a COE- So many are nicer & kept up better. We aren’t returning. The staff are nice to you but that’s all there is. Potholed paved roads, fresh water to fill your camper isn’t marked nor is it at the dump site. Sites are fair but unkept (dead trees, broken rotting fences). (Litter IS picked up by volunteers, thank you) moss/weeds growing from roofs, not sure I trust the bathhouses to stay standing with snow. Showers are in horrible condition- thankful for my Rv & water pump, when I carried water to my camper, since I couldn’t fill when I came in. I didn’t know where it was & couldn’t find anyone to ask upon check in. No one, at the gate house & no sign as to wait or just come in. If you haven’t been here before… you be confused & left wondering. Wait till you see pictures I hope to add. We will No recommend or return here.

Relaxing
Sites are large, private and mostly level, although we did see a couple of sites where the camper tounge was all the way down and still not level. (Those sites may have been intended for tents only but it was Labor Day and full.) Lots of sites are right up against the water but most of those are no electric. Some electric otherwise. Lots of generators so expect some noise but not terrible. Everything from tents to large motorhomes. Plenty of bathrooms, good water fill station and dump station. PA Route 18 is a divided highway in this area, so all turns are from the right lane sorta like an interstate, once you figure that out driving is easy. Verizon worked good. Will definitely return here and try for site right by water.
