Curwensville Lake is an Army Corps of Engineers flood control dam with no horsepower restriction making it an awesome boating and fishing destination. Large tiger musky and perch on the lake.
The campsites in the main campground of 52 spots are nicely spaced and neat. The shower house is next to a playground and pavillion. There are good, not great, views of the lake. The surrounding hills and river basin are crisscrossed by short to medium length hiking trails.
There are over 30 other camping sites not listed on the front page of the website that are scattered across the property. All are suitable for tenting. Some have water and electric. About a dozen border right on the lake! Improvements continue throughout the year. There is a nice sized marina handling very large boats. There is also a nice beach for swimming, dog park, dog swim area, loads of picnicking pavillions, soccer fields, and frisbee golf. There is lots to do here and the staff is friendly and attentive.
