SO MUCH TRAIN NOISE!
We had to move close to the highway because the train crosses a road at the camp, so it's not just the rumble, but the HORN! It's pretty and close to everything, but if you're in an RV (tents are on the south side, so are far from the train) go somewhere else!!

Nice campground, very clean! The train tracks were about 30 feet from our campsite, so it was a bit noisy.

Pros and Cons
Pros
Close to everything to do near hood river . Biking, kite boarding hiking, shopping Hood river, fishing ect.
Cons
I agree with last reviewer. .
Campground is between railroad track and highway very noisy all night long.
Showers were a mess not up to state park standards.
I've stayed at almost all state parks in the gorge along or near hwy 84 and at all of the parks you will have train and hwy noise but viento is the loudest.
If your visiting the area and near a base camp to stay I recommend toll bridge campground near hwy 35 south of hood river ...

My Favorite Gorge Hiker/Biker Campground
Love this place! The train does run all night, but if you stay on the south side then it's not really an issue. Well maintained facilities, a friendly staff and few RVs.
