Great Mid Week
Nice surprise having an attendant in the booth .. No reservation for us and she was very helpful, pretty empty. Scenic lake, yes there is road noise but it dies down. Looks like a weekend could be crazy, dispersed camping across the lake and forest cgs as well. Nice walking path around cg, perhaps a mile or two. Very well maintained

Well Maintained
Stayed four nights. Clean, well maintained and the rangers are very helpful. Many opportunities for outdoor activities. Some road noise from the highway.

Nice Campground
We stayed here Oct 22 thru 24, 2018. Large campground, well maintained, and clean bathrooms with hot showers. Close to the main highway so there is road noise but it gets pretty quiet around 7 p.m. If you reserve online be aware that some of the sites on the lake side have a steep slope prior to the level area. I noticed that some sites had groves in the asphalt indicating to me that trailer hitches contacted the pavement at some point during the parking process. Many full service sites but I did notice some of the sites were short and would not accommodate the vehicle towing the trailer or if you had a toad you might be able to park it in the site. Very few areas to park an extra vehicle and you have to get a special parking pass to park it. Verizon 4G with 1 to 2 bars. Take a drive to Mill City (about 16 miles) and have a "world famous hamburger" at Poppa Al's. Several small grocery stores and restaurants in small town of Detroit.

A Love For Nature
Pros: Great views, boating and exploring Cons: Alot of road noise and some sites have trees in the way of puting out your awning or pop outs. Thus 4 star vs 5. But they were great about switching sites if they have any available.

Ok place to camp. Great place for a lake boat or jet skis. $26 water and power but no dump station.
