Our Local Getaway

We don't live far from here and love to go camping whenever we can. Kids can still go to school and we can still go to work. We've been to a few other state parks, but this one is the nicest so far. Clean bathrooms, friendly staff. Beach and playground for the kids. We consider ourselves lucky to have such a nice park so close to home.

Great Campground

We’ve stayed here a few times. Bathrooms are clean and updated. I like that outside the shower house there are 2 stainless sinks with hot water where you can wash your dishes or collect hot water to take back to the campsite. The sites are big and many of them wooded. This past spring northeastern Ohio had a great deal of rain with a lot of flooding, followed by a heat wave in June. We stayed the end of June. The beaches were closed due to high bacteria count and the beaches were flooded. People were still swimming despite the danger. Wish there had been a pool as it was extremely hot and humid. Otherwise, it’s a great campground. Have to put in a word for the helpers. They have all been great, keeping everything clean, helpful when needed, too. Would highly recommend this campground.

West Branch

Our locale, so have hiked it all seasons, swam in lake at beach (geese there too, be warned), x-country skied trail, and camped there, tent, and lately motor home new to us, shake-down. Lovely area, on a large reservoir. Biked around it, watched sunset on the water. Also has a challenging mountain bike trail. RV full hookups, and not right on top of your neighbor. Clean restrooms, showers hot, laundry facilities. What else could you want?

Great staff. Very friendly. Park Management came through twice and asked if there was anything we needed. Was spring so obviously it was quite muddy. Very clean facilities. Will definitely use in the future.

Great Campground

We really enjoyed our stay here. Beautiful restrooms and shower houses. Very clean. The shower houses had outside sinks with hot water for doing dishes. There was a nice laundry. The state had brought in sand for the beach, so it was very nice. Had treed spaces. Very quiet during the week days. Did not stay over the weekend. But was told this was not a party atmosphere Campground. Great playground. Nice family Campground.

You Touch The Water You Die

The Water is so bad people are actually dying from swimming and coming in contact with the water. So please keep away !!!

Excellent campsite. Very clean and well managed. Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful setting. We will plan to stay here next time we are in the area.
