Only stayed 1 night, the spot we picked was nice and shaded in the trees. If you show up past 5 pm like we did someone will come around and check you in and you can buy fire would for $5 a bundle. Raccoons are thrifty, use the food hook or put food back in your car!

One Of My Favorite Places
Lake Norman State Park Campground is perfect for relaxing hiking and fishing in beautiful natural and quiet surroundings. If you are looking for a place to watch TV and run your a/c it may not be the ideal place for you. I am both a tent and RV camper and I always look forward to a few nights in this beautiful park.
The sites I've stayed in are not level but they are just a tongue jack adjystment away. The bathrooms are clean and fresh water is readily available.
Fishing is very good even from the shore. Smallmouth, bluegill and crappie are plentiful. Largest bluegill I've seen anywhere.
Late spring and early fall are my choices for the time to enjoy this slice of heaven.

No Electric
Beautiful area, one of only a few swimming access to Lake Norman. Be ready to put your camper leveling skills to the test. Nope, the sites are paved but you have to back into them uphill for only a 100 feet. We'd stop more often if they put in some power.
