Potential
No longer a Jellystone Park.
Potential is there in a few years for this to be a decent campground. Upper RV area is quite new and far from any amenities. Currently it's a dust bowl. 1 tree planted at each site may provide some shade in 10-15 years.
Only one laundry with only two washers and two dryers. Can't get my laundry done! They need to add machines.
Dog poop all around our site from previous campers.
No WiFi except at office.
Directional signs are missing in a few key places, such as stay right around the laundry to get up to the upper RV area. We stayed left and almost got stuck on a hill.
Cable tv is good. Full good are good.

Worst Ever
If it rains during your stay you will find yourself in a mud hole.

Poor Pull Through And No Drainage
Reserved 50 amp pull through. There are 4 pull through spaces but very tight spacing. If it rains, the pull through sites are EXTREMELY muddy. The park itself is nice and the staff friendly, but forget the pull through sites.

Nice And Quiet
We arrived on a Monday morning at 11:30 am to find the park nice and quiet. Upon check in,We were informed of the $25.00 early arrival fee and decided to check out the surroundings instead. We found Lake James state Park, Luckey Strike Goldmine and Bobs Hand made Donuts in Marion NC.Once back at the campground, the staff offered to escort us to our site. We declined and proceeded to set up. We had one other family near us. The groundskeepers were very respectful and they were staying busy with playground maintenance, dust control and general upkeep. We enjoyed our stay and will be back.
