Beware
Paid upfront $460 for three weeks (for work) and was given a spot without a heated hydrant (December stay with freezing temperatures). An emergency at another site changed my plans and had to leave after three days. Spoke with owner (yikes) and said he would refund some money. Needless to say, no refund given after I left. A few colorful topics that the owner discussed with me were 1) urinating on dead soldiers while in the war (Iraq). 2) 11 kids with 4 different women. 3) using a machete to chop water hoses that were not disconnected by 6:30pm 4) his reinforced concrete machine gun nest he built by the dumpster for “when things go down.” 5) the Chinese control the red blinky lights on the wind turbines and control them through spy satellites to see our flight patterns. Stay at your own risk and prepare to deal with these folks if your paths cross.

Could Be A Nice RV Park, But …
The sites are ok and fairly level. The manager (owner?) is a grumpy jerk! He quoted me a price when I made the reservation four weeks ago but charged me $6 more per night. Had a price increase, too bad. He put us in the closest site to the office. When I mentioned that was quite a distance to the bath house, he said there was also showers at the end of the office building next to the swimming pool. When we went to use the pool and showers the next afternoon it was, oh I closed the pool day after Labor Day and closed the showers today. No a/c in the shower rooms and it is 92*. He is a complete ass. There are other rv parks in the area that appear to be at near capacity. About 5% of the sites are occupied here. I will not stay here again.

I have never written a bad review before this The reviews about the park being in bad shape are absolutely right on. Plus the owner/manager is impossible to deal with and is extremely cranky and grumpy and said the paying customer is NOT entitled to be disappointed in no pool available, no restaurant available, only delivery to campsite cash only and horrible wifi at campsite. Should be removed from Good Sam because you don't get the discount anyway.

Decent
A good stay was had, we were here 1wk. Overnights happen here all week long. The owner most say he comes across cranky.. he is very business like but, will take care of whatever you need. He waved to every time he was out there working… or said a quick one liner. But… he’s busy so no extra chatting. The campground is gravel, typical SW, dry grass & tight especially in the Full connection area, but was fine for us.. most days we were exploring so who cares. 😂 We come again for a few days if passing by or recommend it for a quick stay. On and yes coin laundry is there. In far shape- they have easy barbecue still. Didn’t try tho.

We’ve stayed here before, once with our 40’ fifth wheel and now in our 45’ MH with toad. Both times we were able to stay hooked up since we were only overnight. Due to the Balloon Festival going on in Albuquerque, we were lucky to get a 30amp and water site. The park was pretty full with all sizes of units. We will definitely stay again.

Grumpy And Dumpy
Read Norm’s review. Spot on in description of the place and whoever runs it! He tends to his little private green “fairway” watering it continuously while the rest of the park screams for maintenance and updating which likely hasn’t happened since it was a KOA in its previous life based off of the iconic arched office. *Good Sam’s insignia on billboard out front and on park map once you check in but doesn’t honor Good Sam*🤔 Should have stayed in Tucumcari.

This Is A Dump
If it’s not it’s a sad excuse for one. Chris Lamb the owner and person you will deal with has lots of problems and makes sure he’s (alway) having a bad day and will want to drag you down with him. Now for the campground, all dirt and hasn’t had any maintenance for years. Pets are not allowed on any green parts there may be and the whole place is overridden by cocker barrels. Dog will have bunches in their paws just going outside the door, no walking and have to be kept on the road paths only or he will yell across the whole campground to let you know. They do offer limited food they will deliver to your site and way overpriced. Office only open from 12-6pm and I was going to order food but while I was waiting he had a line out the door of people coming in to get their spot and people do chat in these lines and rudely yell at a lady talking to her fried to “shut up and listen I’m only telling them once and didn’t want yo repeat instructions. I read reviews and tried, it’s my worth it!!!

Don't Go, WARNING, STAY AWAY
Other parks in area were full so I called ahead 6 hours and told owner I was traveling with 2 small kids in a small camper. Told him I needed to make sure there was space available an inquired about reservation. Was told he had plenty of room and no need for reservation. When I arrived the owner smelled of alcohol and told me to get off his property as only self contained motorhomes were allowed. I told him I called ahead and he became aggressive so I left with my two small children and no where to sleep.

Owner very belligerent! Attempts at humor miss the mark! Off color racial remarks. Drives around the park in his golf cart at night looking for trouble. Could hear him yell at a couple of people staying there. Quite a few fries short of a happy meal. Read all reviews about the owner. Gruff nature Absolutely true! There are better places down the road. $43.00 one night

Level site. Easy in and out 3 RVs traveling together and he got us all side by side. Nice dog run. Good water pressure. Definitely a great stay over park.

We were on our way to Texas and needed an overnight stop. Quiet and just enough off the beaten path enough to get a good nights rest. The BBQ was OK but I it wasn’t championship quality. We got the last 50amp full hookup site available on 4/9/19. Unbeknownst to us... Chris (owner) gave a head’s up on incoming bad weather. 75 mph wind gusts & a high profile motor coach doesn’t mix well. Best Place We've Stayed As New Rvers
Very easy to park, very clean, Chris is a straight shooter and friendly. Just runs his business with his rules. We called ahead to chris he said he was really busy and took our number but said he had room. We got there before he could call us back. He asked if we had a reservation, what kinda dog and if we were from CA? Said no, a husky and no - Virginia, formerly from the communist state of MD - he laughed and said we could stay. Lol. Very nice to see the horses out back in the morning and more grass than most of the places we have stayed.

Clean and quiet, near railroad tracks but train not that often think i heard once. Owner is a bit gruff. Has a rough personality and jokes can be aggressive. He won't put up with anyones garbage. He is investing money in park. New signage up and little things are starting to be upgraded. He only has a few 50 amp hook ups and some are with out sewer. Restaurant on site has good bbq but don't show up 15 minutes before closing you will only be allowed to do take out. If you get to park early enough they will deliver to your rig. Owner Needs 'Be Nice' Pill
Park is okay for an overnight stay. The owner is gruff, rude and short. We called ahead and were told he was too busy to take a reservation and to come on. When we walked into the office he said if we didn't have reservations, there wasn't space. Water spigot needed splitter to share with neighboring RV. You would have thought we were asking for the moon. We calmly asked for splitter then we're accused of being 'pissed off'. Walked into restaurant at 6:40 pm. Waitress rudely stated they were closing in 15 minutes so they would only do takeout. All around poor attitudes. They must not care about repeat business.

GREAT PLACE! *read this review*
I read all the other reviews on my way here. Very mixed. So here's the truth.... Chris is a no nonsense dude. The rules are simple here; check in first. The place is clean. The sites are nice. The restaurant has great food and service, and is reasonably priced. I am traveling with my son, and we are on a budget. We were gonna get a tent site, but with looming thunderclouds, I was a bit leery. Understanding that I was on a budget and with child, Chris gave us a good price on the cabin. He looked for us. We had a nice, yummy meal. Took a dip in the pool. Went for a walk, and greeted some other campers. I couldn't ask for a better night. The people who complained either cant or didn't read the sign. It only says one thing: don't enter without registering. Not too much to ask. Great place, super clean, all the amenities, totally affordable. I WILL DEFINITELY STAY HERE AGAIN, and I RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO EVERYONE!!! Thank you Chris and staff!!!!!

Because of the wind on I-40 Z coming from Amarillo I decided to stop for rest before going on to Arizona. The sites are easy to navigate and the one I have is perfectly level. We wanted to see the camping spots before we registered so we could choose one. According to the map all the tent sites were open but we just wanted to see which one we wanted before we spend our money. We run into an a****** guy who insisted that we paid $20 per person even if we sleep in the same tent. Good for overnight stay. 50 Amp service requires two 30 Amp plugs. Must have adapter. Wi-Fi service weak where our site was located. Most sites do not have sewer. So I pull in at 8 o'clock in the evening fill out all the paperwork but don't have cash to leave in an envelope but I still drop it and the overnight slot and as I try to navigate in the dark 2 the tent camping site I pulled in the wrong direction. But I thought I would ask a gentleman as he's walking to my vehicle with a flashlight in my face asking me what I want where the bathrooms were because they weren't clearly marked on the map. I repeat myself to him saying I would I was looking for the bathroom before I went to the tent site and he tells me in a very angry voice that this is his Campground and if I haven't put any money in the envelope I have no right to be there and I need to leave his Campground immediately because I was a smart mouth and his words when all I did was ask where the bathroom was before I could go to the campsite! He started waving his large Maglite around at my truck saying I needed to get out of the truck and fight him or get off of his property!

Check in was so fun! Owner, Chris, was very pleasant. And had us laughing for 10 minutes! What a treat! Restaurant is open and delivers to your sight! Lots of room for our fur babies! Will definitely stop here again

Came in after dark and drove through to se what spaces were available. A truck started following us almost immediately and when we pulled into a vacant spot, my husband got out to talk to the driver. He was very rude and insisted that we go register immediately despite my husband explaining that we needed to choose a spot first. Needless to say, we drove off and gave someone else our business.

Quiet And Clean
Older campground but very clean! Our big 43' RV fit nicely among the trees that offered shade with patches of grass throughout for the dogs. Perfect for a night or 2 stop over. No typical campsite amenities like a pool or restaurant, but didn't need one. Electricity went out for just a couple minutes and staff were right on it, ensuring everyone they were taking care of it and did. Great for older, childless travelers who enjoy the quiet.
