A beautiful stop for the night. Although close to the interstate noise is minimal. (Site 16). Walking trails and lake swimming available. Sites are spacious and level. Yes, it seems expensive for out of staters but the county park is now $30 so we opted for convenience and ease of travel. 30 ft 5W and did not have to unhook.

Didn’t Stay
They wanted $12 for out of staters so that $25 quickly became $37. Go down the road. There’s a nice county park that doesn’t care where you’re from.

Nickel And Dimed
Ask the office how much for the night, $25. He asked if I had a preference, I said pull through so that I don't have to disconnect as I'm just staying for the night. He informs me that they are all "electric plus" sites which are $5 extra. I asked what the "plus " meant and he said 30 and 50 amp. Fine I'll pay $5 extra. He then sees that I have out of state plates and says that I have to pay non-resident entrance fee of $8, instead of $6 for residents. He tells me that the pass is good ubtil 8 am and must be on drivers side windshield. Check out time is 2pm, which means if you don't leave by 8am technically you need to pay another $8. I normally hit the road between 8am and 9am so I'm not giving them another $8. $14.50 non-resident single day fishing permit with no disabled veteran discount. The office is 3/4 of a mile, so I can't walk to get the permit. Besides that it seems to be a really decent campground, especially if you like fishing.

Stayed one night as we were passing thru. Very clean and well kept up. Close to Interstate 80 but could not hear the traffic which was an added bonus. Will stay again

Beautiful Place To Stay For A Day Or 2
This is the second time we have stayed at the Mormon Island State recreation campground. They have power but no water and no sewer, the Wi-Fi is nonexistent however you get great reception with about five channels on TV live. Both times that I stayed there I really wished I brought a fishing license so that I could go fishing in that beautiful lake they have there. If you were looking for a beautiful comfortable place to stay with lots of trees flowers at a nearby town Grand Island Nebraska then this is the spot! They had 30 amp service and 50 amp in a separate campground. They also have a great shower bathroom complex which also serves as a refuge in tornadoes. Each trailer site is paved and relatively flat they also have tent camping in a separate area.

Easy And Nice
Dropped in on our way home. It's clean and treed. The lake looks nice, but the beach is closed (no idea why). The camping fee is reasonable ($25 for electric) although they tack on the daily use fee, too ($8). Still, it's safe and is easy to access from 80. The cg itself is quiet. The sites are pretty spacious. Checkout is 2 p.m., so you could swim and shower before leaving.

Expensive for what it is.
I told the host I thought $38 is a little high for electric only. Her response was to give me directions to the KOA. I'll skip this one next time.

Great Little Gem
We were planning on staying at the KOA in Donipher but after paying $57 last night at the KOA in Cheyenne, we decided to give this a place a try. ... it's late September and park is basically empty... the sites a spaces... lots of grass and trees... some highway traffic ... shower water is warm enough though rustic... nothing fancy but clean... did I mention that it's $20 a night... plus $8 for non residents... no water or septic hook ups but electric... no cable but the $57 Cheyenne koa didn't have it either... they have a 40" minimum length on their muskellunge... what? Do they have jaws in there... swimming is allowed at the beach... no life guard... camp host is at site 6 and they were most helpful picking out a site... looking forward to enjoying 3 days here doing family research

No water at the site and no sewer at site. But dump stations do have water. “Pull thru” sites are actually “pull OVER” sites so you have traffic on one side always.

Super nice campground hosts. Big trees provide lots of shade. Clean showers.
