Wonderful Visit
We had a wonderful day enjoying the peaceful sounds of the river, watching wildlife & fishing from the riverbanks. It was a hot day & the few families occupying the campsites were taking advantage of the water access. The mosquitoes were out but not at all too bothersome. I'd pack the bug spray & sunscreen (natural is best if you're getting in the water) just to be safe.
This access has 2 vault toilets, the one closest to the point was very clean so we can only guess the one by the dam was the same. There are 6 campsites & a wheelchair accessible overlook, by the dam, which is set up for day use with parking, a picnic table and grill grate/fire ring. No dumpster so remember to honor the pack in/pack out rules. You could visibly see some leftover trash from previous visitors.
Free access/camping. Picking up & cleaning the area you're visiting only helps to keep it this way.
Entry into the area is a little narrow in 1 spot. Keep this in mind if bringing a motor home or large trailer.

Nice small FREE campsite along the Tongue river. Nice prairie views with some coulees in the distance. There are not many sites 4-5. At least one does not have a picnic table or fire pit. There is a pit toilet. All in all a nice camp. No potable water, no hookups.
