Nichols lake
Great campground. Not sure where "Scott" camped for other review but Nichols Lake had a paved drive, loop, and sites. Nicely wooded with good distance between sites. The lake is good for fishing and there's a boat launch on the south end of the lake. The beach is nice for swimming. The North Country Trail skirts the west side of the lake and by using that and a couple roads you can hike all the way around the lake, about 3 miles. Sites do not have power or water but bath house does.
Our family has camped there many times but it has steadily become a more popular place. Without reservations, plan on being there by Tuesday evening if you want to stay the weekend.

Edit: entrance off 11 mile rd. GPS directions are wrong. I don’t know how Laura got to this campground. The GPS directions must be wrong, we couldn’t find it. Ok little campground, sites are pretty close together, but shaded. Gravel rode in and gravel sites. Most sites aren’t very level.

Great place to get back in touch with nature. Camp isn't micromanaged, but isn't dirty or unmaintained. Lake is good for fishing! I've been here several times and plan on being back!
