Relaxation
My family with 3 young kids stayed 2 nights during the weekend at a tent site. Very well maintained camp grounds all around! The tent site had a sand pad that accommodated for our 8 person tent had a burn pit, hose hookup for water and BBQ pit with picnic table. The playground and and very accessible walking paths were especially accommodating for us and our kids. I would advise to prepare for the tent site to have standing water. We were unable to use our fire pit as it had standing water about 15’ in every direction. Good thing we brought our own fire pit. The tent sites around the outside of the circle seemed to have dryer sites. Other than that we very looking forward to making our next camping trip to Tickfaw!!!

Nice State Park
Very nice campground. Sites are wide and long - plenty of separation from your neighbor. Picnic table, fire ring and charcoal grill are each site. $24 per night with 15% military discount for non-premium site. Premium sites have full hookups; non have water & elec. Sites are level and have a wood deck like a patio for outdoor living. No additional park pass like some states have. Laundry is no longer free...$1.75 wash and $1.75 to dry. Shower/restrooms and laundry were well maintained, clean, and spacious. Interesting nature center and boardwalk trail. Playground, hiking trails, pavilions, boat launch proximity to New Orleans. Something for nearly everyone. Worth the drive in. No bugs on early January, but it is swampy...I'm sure the bugs can be brutal in the warmer weather.

Well Maintained
Yes, it's a bit off the highway (11 or so miles) but well worth it. Very well maintained. All RV sites are paved and reasonably level. FREE laundry! Twenty dollars/night plus $6 online reservation fee & taxes. Two nights $50.58.

Beautiful campground that is very clean, well maintained and sites are level with plenty of space. Comfort station has clean restrooms with showers and a free laundromat, which is a great amenity. The closest supermarket is Carter's which is about 12 miles away. I would definitely recommend this place.

Tranquil....
Very nice park, clean quiet staff is very helpful n courteous. We had a spot booked from Thursday to Monday but came in a day early n our spot wasn't available at that time so they booked us another spot 2 sites down from ours for our whole week stay n it turned out wonderful. Bathhouse was very clean n efficient. I would definitely recommend this park to others n if we make another trip down we will certainly stay there. And what else was nice is that they accepted our senior pass at the check in n that gave us a discount.

we went there for a quiet weekend with our kids to be in the woods. thats what we got. the place is clean, quiet and relaxing. we walked the dogs on the trails and talked by the fire. The place had lots of shade and was easy to get to. We will be back.

Quaint & Beautiful
We have been to many state parks since we began this travel adventure, this park is one of the best. Quiet, clean and friendly. Don't pass this one up!

An Hour Drive From New Orleans
Stayed in #19. All campsites back to trees, have decked patio areas and have lots of space from your neighbors. Very well maintained and super friendly foresters. Showers, bathrooms and laundry are very nice and clean! Would definitely stay here again!

Hidden Gem
Lovely setting, beautifully maintained park, relatively private rv sites. The water park was great fun for young and old alike. :)

Tickfaw State Park
We live near this park and stay here often. Fair distance from the interstate but worth the drive if you are looking to stay at a campground where the only thing you hear at night are the crickets and frogs! Nature center, nature trails, quiet RV Sites, small pond to fish, and spray ground for the kids during the summer months. Call ahead. Limited number of spots and weekends are usually pretty full.
