Treed Old Quarry
Big county park. Lots of trees. Hilly, so some sites less than level. 2 bathrooms near us, 1 was much newer. older 1 clean but very dated. In section C, mostly exposed to the sun. Lots of trails for hiking and mtn biking. Friendly staff. Check in building stays open late - we arrived at 8:30 pm due to 2 different detours on highway 24 as we came in from the west, not to mention stopping to take our 2 small dogs, to find staff still there up till about 9 pm. A very pleasant and peaceful place - no gunshots heard, but there is a train that passes by a bit further away during the day. All in all, a good place to stop, relatively inexpensive - $30/ nite for elec and water. We have a small 25' motor home, so plenty of room for our size rig.

Pretty Backwoods
Stopped here on the way across the state based on the reviews and photos. The swimming beach is not close to the campground. It's a good walk like 20 min. The staff was nice but the campground we got was just a lightly graveled site with about a 2% grade. Some of the sites looked better but it depends on what campground number you are. We were in E. The rules say no fireworks but someone had firecrackers at night. Then I know it probably wasn't in the campground but there was shooting all night and then again in the morning after breakfast. Shower house was old and very dirty as was the rest of the campground. Not worth the $30.

I made a reservation for a 38 ft motorhome. When we arrived there were plenty of sites available & they were laid back enough to allow us to move to a more level spot. They also allowed our friends to pull in next to us. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Nice quarry lake, nice scuba diving, nice shower/restroom facilities. Great camping experience. We'll definitely be back. It could only be better if they had full hookups.

Made reservations and informed them that my coach was 35'. They said that they had a perfect site for me. When I arrived they told me that they might not have a site that I could fit in. They ended up putting us in what obviously was not a regular site - no picnic table and no fire ring. They said they would get us a table but never followed through. Also got a Coke at the vending machine next to the office and the bottle was half full. They said that it was tough luck but there was nothing they could do about it.

Great Camping!
France park is under new management and is a very fun, clean place to camp. There are a lot of things to do there. Highly recommended.
