Nice Park
We stayed here while visiting Louisville doing the bourbon trail. Very spacious level sites, some with shade. We arrived on a Thursday and couldn’t get one of the sites with sewer hookups but all had water and 50amp. We would definitely stay here again.

Visitor
This is a beautiful park. The attendant was very friendly. Our site was very easy to back into with a 5th wheel. Nice place to walk and ride bikes. If we come back this way and we are ready to park for day we will definitely stay again. Thank ParkAdvisor you information to this park.

Nice Park!
Reserved site 120 but could not get into it due to low hanging limbs. Called the office and they let us move to 105. These are some of the longer sites and just enough room for our 40 foot 5er plus park our quad cab dually. Pick your site carefully if in a big rig. Charge $9 entrance fee first day only. Drove down to boat dock area and nice river overlooks with benches. Nice clean modern restrooms. Also have some pit toilets near by.

We stayed there for a week last summer while visiting with family in the area. We had a partially shaded site with a ton of space between us and the neighbors. The Florida state parks would have squeezed one or two more between! Everything was clean and it was very quiet. It took about twenty minutes to get into Louisville, but that's ok, it was worth it. We will definitely be back.

Very Nice State Park
We stayed here last week on our 1st RV trip. We tried it because it is only about 5 miles from home and didn't want to travel too far the 1st time trying out our new RV. It was wonderful... very spacious sites, very clean, and easy in and out. Full hook up site loops are a bit more crowded. In fact I think we are going back this weekend and staying in electric only site. Rose island is very nice too!

Nice Place
Plenty of room. Great campground for bicycles and hiking. No pool and not much for kids to do. Visit Rose Island and you'll not be disappointed.

Nice Campground
The campground itself is 2 miles into the state park. We had to pay the day use entrance fee and there was an added cost because we were from out of state to get access to our prepaid Reserve America reservations. Sites were spaced well and there were trees that are well into maturing. The restrooms had water saving showers in that one pushes a button for water, then again as needed to rinse off soap. Some sites are full hookup while others are electric only. We went to the overlook for the Ohio River around sunset and saw a tug with barges.

You Must See Rose Island!
I read about Rose Island inside Charlestown State Park and went to see it. Rose Island was a big resort that was destroyed in a 1937 flood and abandoned. You can see the ruins today when you hike the trail on the island. We hiked Rose Island and another trail as well. The trails take you to the edge of the Ohio River where you can watch the boats go by. This park is well maintained and the trails are easy to follow. Rose Island itself has trails you can even take strollers on. I highly recommend this park to everyone!
