Found this gem on Park Advisor App. Very quiet, lovely setting around the small lake. Paved roads, wonderful for walking and biking. Park security was great, leading us to let us pick out the site we wanted. I’m sure this is not the case during events, but this day is great!

Great Value!
We stayed here for the Du Quoin State Fair. With over 1,000 sites, we were good to go. But, the sites are very close to each other, and up to six sites share water hookup. Make sure to bring an extension cord for your power/water. The shower house was nice, but it could be quite a walk from the campsite, depending on where you stayed. We were a quick 5 minute walk to the fair. Our camping fee of $25 included the $2 fee for the fair. We had a hard time getting someone to answer the phone. When they did answer, their advice was to just show up and they would find room for us - and they did! I suspect it may have been that way because of the fair. Most of the campsites are along a pond in the fairgrounds and away from HWY 51. Access is easy through Gate 3. Walmart is nearby and several other restaurants. Make sure to stop by Alongi's and the Du Quoin bakery. We're likely to stay here again.
