Former Park attendant
Cecil, you’re under the impression that the ppl at the gate are on a power trip...not so. They are doing their job as described by the ACOE. It is a requirement that the person who’s names are on the card, is the person that they will check, your photo ID is to make sure you are actually there. So please , don’t take it personal. They have a job to do. One that is very enjoyable. You & everyone else just have to follow the rules.

Very nice COE park. Good space between sites. Nearly all sites are on lake. A lot sites have concrete pads. Very clean park. Restrooms and showers were clean. With senior pass stayed here for 14$ a day. What a bargain ! Scenery is great with lake and trees at sunset. We’ll be back for sure. Staff friendly as well.

Stayed here overnight going north and again when we were heading south when driving thru Atlanta. Nice quiet place. Spotty phone service which wasn't a problem for us. No sewer hookup but there was a dump station. Understand they are open year round. We plan to return in the future, hopefully for more than just a quick night.

Peaceful
Most of the sites are quite private. Site 25 is level but I wouldn't suggest for a camper or motorhome over 30 feet. I didn't use the bath house but I heard they were awful. The lake is decently shallow behind this site. It's a great area to swim with kids. I never saw the camp host or a ranger other than at the front gate when we checked in. There also is no camp store. I'm not sure where the closest store is.

Very Nice
One of the better campgrounds I’ve been to in the south east US. Worth the drive.

Great Place
Super nice camp hosts, very accommodating. Gave us a nice spot, albeit very un level, but big and quiet.

Great Camp Ground
We kayaked and biked and hiked the local area. Camp sites are well apart clean and flat. Camp host we're AWOL - fine by us. Just drove in and set up.

Beautiful!
Gorgeous location with well spaced sites. We stayed in site 50 which is a double site. We wouldn't have stayed in any of the other sites because they are narrow back-ins. Site 50 afforded a view of the lake and a nice large dirt area for the kids to play in. The roads are wide enough for big rigs and all paved. It would be nice if there was an occasional light here or there as it gets very dark at night.

Great Campground
We probably had the worst site in the campground, #18. Nearly all sites are right on the lake, as was ours, but we couldn’t see the water due to so much undergrowth. But, that's the one we asked for, so can't really fault the campground. We noticed nearly all other sites could see the water. Bathrooms and showers were very clean. Lots of lake activities, hiking trails, and playground for the kids. We would definitely come back. Senior national park pass accepted, giving us a rate of $14.

Over Night In Class A
This is a beautiful park. Lots to love here. Water front hard surfaced lots and beautiful sunsets. No sewer. Good electric and water. Only a few miles off the interstate. Only 2 drawbacks. They padlock the gate at 10 each night and you can only get out if "it's an extreme emergency, and it better be extreme " per the host working the gate. When we arrived, my wife went to check in. The same host asked to verify our NPS National Access card. My wife came and got my billfold as I registered the site with my card. She has one also. The host threatened to redline our card when my wife presented the card as I was not at the window. While all this is going on, the host saw my wife come over, plus he could see me unhooking our tow vehicle. Other than the host power trip, this is one of the nicest COE parks I've seen. We will come back.
