Off The Beaten Path Gem
Found this place while planning a non-interstate trip across Georgia. We arrived much later than expected but with prior planning was told to just pick a spot and pay the camp host in the morning. There are only two pull thru spots in the small 10 site campground all others you will need to back in. Once morning came we were able to inspect the wonderful plantation and it’s buildings just behind the fence of our spot. Wish we had more time to take the tour. Camp host was very friendly and we shared a lot of commonalities. Get off the main roads and check this little gem out.

Wonderful, Quiet campground
This is for your historical fix, there's history at the campground/plantation Museum of Calloway. Closed Sunday and Monday but call anyway to see if they have open sites. Super quiet and everyone is friendly. Great deal for taking back roads in se ga. $25/night. Stay an extra day to see the museum and the town of Washington. We'll be back.

Absolutely AWESOME
full hooks , WIFI, solitude, peaceful, historic, outstanding folks! Impossible to say enough about this beautiful spot! Plantation grounds has picnic tables, a swing for butterfly and hummingbird observation, nice spots to sit and read or relax!
Not far outside of Washington. Little town has a wonderful square with a delicious coffee cafe, pizza, cute shops.
The plantation life is phenomanol

Wow! You can't ask for anything more.
This place is outstanding! The people are great and the facilities are fantastic. Just to top it off it is very reasonable priced ( less than the State Parks). It is also a restored plantation with daily tours.
