Awesome Dry Camping
Great NFS campground. Sites 1-4 in the lower loop, 5-24 in the upper loop. Road signs don't direct you to the sites, only the loop. If you come from the north, Blairsville, you will not be able to make the right turn into the campground unless you're in a car, van, or truck camper. U turn possible about 1 1/4 mile down the road. Anything towed, class A, or larger class C will have to come in from the south and turn left. Pit toilet in upper loop, flush toilets and showers in the lower loop. Great hiking to the falls. Lower fall 1/4 mile, but kind of steep. Upper fall 3/4 mile hike, mostly level ground. Choose your site carefully, when making reservations, as a lot are only big enough for tents, but a lot of tents take the larger sites for RVs by the stream. Loop road very narrow. Stream is shallow and should be safe for children to play in. I don't know, but possibly more hazardous in spring with spring thaw. $20, $10 with sr pass.

Handy Access
Following an AT hiker means we are all about being near the AT. This campground was wonderfully close. We heard a lot of traffic though, and we even heard a helicopter come to pick up an accident victim. Lots of motorcycles. Campground was delightful!
