Great Campground
This place is awesome. The poor reviews are just campers that have a different ideal campground. We really like how it's shaded and not a concrete jungle campground. The shade and nature is beautiful. The sites ARE fairly level, contrary to what a few reviews state. The utilities are in good condition and work as they should. We camp here often. The peace and quiet is perfect. There are bath houses (we don't use), walking trails, kayak rentals, bike rentals, and a pool (which is being renovated). Each campsite has a fire ring and picnic table. There is also a small Cafe to eat at. The staff is friendly, you can buy firewood and ice from them.

This was a great park. All Rangers/Staff were very welcoming and helpful. The site was clean and spacious. We came up on a weekday and only needed two nights. The only gripe I had was that the restroom in our loop needed to be renovated. Trails were great. River was very nice.

Nature Park
This was a very nice nature park. The sites are very low level and flood in heavy rains. We went during the rainy season and that was our mistake. Rained the whole weekend and are site # 33 was flooded. May go back, but it’ll be in the dry season. The washers and dryers were broken as well. The bath house wasn’t sparkling clean, but that is do to the muddy site and hard for the staff to keep up. We stayed August 2 - 4, 2019.

Never again
Want to stay in an overgrown jungle? Then this is the place for you! Dirt in level close sites. Washers and Dryers broken, had to go to laundromat and pay extra. Bring a screen tent because you will be living in the low lands and swamp. We left half way through out booked stay and were much happier elsewhere!

Beautiful Park
The trails in this park are amazing and many wind along the river. The campground is ok but avoid the inside section as they have NO privacy. Best sites are on the outer loops (18-28, 60-78). It was packed but mostly quiet. Great spot for canoes and kayaks. The park has a cafe, seasonal pool, playgrounds, and kayak/canoe rentals. The place can get muddy so I bring tarps to put down to minimize tracking it inside the rv. Laundry machines were broken and the bathhouses were old but ok.

This park is beautiful,BUT we won’t stay again or recommend it until they refurbish all of the sites. They are low, uneven, and flood quickly. There is none of the fine gravel on the sites and the electric and water hook ups are either broken or don’t work well. Needs a makeover!!

Not Impressed
Dirt sites are no fun after rain storm. Dealt with mud rest of the trip fri thru sun. Went to pull saturday, opened an hour and half late due to mixing chemicals in pool. Then only had 1 lifeguard so rule is 100 people max limit for pool area. Aftrr neing late, lifeguard had to take her 30 min lunch. So everyone had to ecot the pool for 30 mins while she eats and checks facebook. Not impressed. Mosquitoes were terrible. Heard they are in the works of renovation in 3 years do we may come back then and give it a 2nd shot

Checking in at the Ranger Station was very easy and was quickly done. The information provided was adequate giving the time of day. Our assigned lot was nice with a fire pit and stand alone grill. The picnic table was very weathered yet comfortable. The surrounding area I found to be not as nice. One lot had dogs that must have kenneled outside their camper as they barked continuously. The view from our lot from any direction was of other campers and buildings. We did not do much outside because of the temperatures and the rainy weather, especially the 2nd day where it rained from noon to well into the evening hours.

Fantastic Park feels more like a community than a Campground

Quiet, Clean And Enjoyable!
My wife and I camped here for four days in February 2017. Check in was easy, the site clean, and everyone was friendly. We enjoyed the camaraderie of the campers; many folks stopped by and chatted. We also enjoyed the greeting event at the pavilion - coffee and donuts are always welcome! In terms of the park, it was beautiful with many birds, alligators, and even an armadillo or two! The canoeing/kayaking was fabulous too. The river is slow moving with lots to see. Well worth the expense of renting a canoe or kayak. We enjoyed our time here!
