Beautiful But Busy
All first come first serve sites. We stayed at site 1 and paid 1/2 rate due to senior pass. South Mineral gets quite a bit of day use and there is a bunch of boondocking sites nearby if the site is full.
Camp hosts Steven & Cheryl are great people and super helpful. I hope they are there next year when we go back. Over 9500’ asl so it’s quite chilly at night.

Very Nice
Great first come campground, but it's often full. Plan on an 8:00am to 9:00am arrival time if you really want to stay there, fills up quick! Great views, lots of hiking and fishing. It's a short distance to Silverton, so plan a day there. We went in and rented a SxS 4-wheeler for the day to explore the high country.

Great Nat Forest CC
About 10 miles from Silverton on county road. Other camping along the way. Can be busy. It shows Durango, but it's actually outside of Silverton, Colorado.
A National Forest CC with host, hiking, fishing and waterfall.
