Beautiful State Park
Just stayed one night. We were in A section. Older, lots of trees and shade. Older comfort station with need for updating. Sections B & C are new, level rock sites, wide back in, open on hills overlooking the lake nice park to spend some time in. Full hook ups.

We stayed 3 nights in October. Stayed in C-8. This area was hit by a Toronto a few years ago and most of the trees were gone however it was cool weather and the Sunshine was welcome. Great staff had sites were very clean and spacious. Coded gate but no cable or WiFi. 30 and 50 amp electric, sewer and water on site.Fire Pits.
We will be back.

Enjoyed
We stayed 2 nights in section A in June 22.
Yes, it’s older and tighter but certainly adequate for our B+. Bathhouse not new but ok clean.
However Sections B and C are brand new with plenty of room for the big rigs. Did not go inside but bathhouses looked really nice.
Only downside is most have no trees or any shade of any type (reason why all new from tornado). So in summer be sure to have good air- conditioning or will fry.
Some trails, but not tons.
Close to home so will go back.

We stayed in a 37 it has 30 and 50 amp hookups. The site is tight, sights are old and the 30 amp breaker kept tripping... no room on awning side of rv. Picnic table and space behind campsite...I posted 3 pics of site with the red ford.

Friendly & Clean
We arrived later in the evening and had to get let in by a fellow traveler, so call ahead to get gate access if arriving after hours. The sites are well sized and hookups were in good shape. Great little state park with decent hiking trails and good fishing. Very limited WiFi (available in the laundry room) and sketchy cell service, but that’s sometimes a good thing.

The best we have found in Alabama!!!

We camped 3 nights in late February. We had reserved a site online. When we arrived the site was occupied, the registration card at the site indicated the occupant had overstayed by 5 nights at that point. The campground office was closed so we went to the lodge and secured another site. The campground had several indications that people were overstaying or not registering at all. Many of the sites were occupied by "volunteers". I am not sure what they had volunteered to do as the campground generally was a mess and the bath houses were nasty and in poor repair. I know money is tight for the state parks but other Alabama park campgrounds I have visited were much nicer and cleaner. I got the impression that management was severely lacking. I will avoid this campground in the future.

Love This Place
This place is very beautiful with a lot of great lots. The beach area is nice and the kids had a blast riding their bikes on a little area they called "the hills" every site has a fire pit. Some have grills and some have beautiful view of the water.
