Busy Place
If you are looking for a place with loads of kids and motor boats and trailers packed in this place is for you. If you prefer quiet with space between you and your neighbors and peaceful waters for kayaking try someplace else.

We come to this park every year. Staff are very friendly. This year Oct 5 2021 they had a groupe of people who took up half the park which I don't mind. But these people are rude and driving their cars up and down the road at a fast speed and nothing being done, so you can't ride or walk the roads. The gates coming in are open and they are going out the in, and nothing being done about that. Why do they have a private gate that you have too put in a code when the gates are always open. When I book this nothing was said about this. I just hope they didn't know the groupe was going too be like this, but still doing nothing about it. Can't even walk your dog.

Good Park
We stayed about four nights at this park while resting and visiting friends who live nearby. I was impressed by the professionalism of the staff. Everything and I really mean everything that I ask of them was handled in the most fluid and efficient way I have seen at a state facility. It may have been a fluke and if it was I was surely glad of it. The facilities are adequate, bathrooms are clean, the wsshateria worked well. Water pressure was good and parking spaces were adequate and not terribly close together. We met a number of people who are friendly and that added to the enjoyment of the stay. The lake was beautiful and often we had soft rains that made it enjoyable to sit out and view the lake and drink coffee. The Wi-Fi is nonexistent and the television reception is similar. We found this a blessing. We just wanted to relax. If you come I hope you will have the same blessing we did.

A little disappointing. If you have a boat, then everything changes. This campground is for boaters, and the camping is secondary and only in support of boating. Extremely crowded and busy. Everyone else on our loop (E) was here with 10 vehicles — you couldn’t even see the water from the other side of the road because every available space was parked full. $30 for water and 30A, but there was NO dump site on this loop. Also no trash cans. None. On day one, they took away our fire ring (reason unknown, not replaced), so much for campfires.

Called today (4-18-20) about a camp site and what a rude guy! He doesn’t need to be employed anywhere he has to work with the public. I wouldn’t recommend this place period. Only gave 1 star because I couldn’t give lower.

Decent, Huge Campground
We rolled in here on a weekday during the off season. We enjoyed the scenery on lake and saw lots of birds. However, this park has the claim to fame of being the largest government-run campground in the nation, with over 550 site. I'd recommend avoiding peak times unless you want to deal with a mad house! The site vary significantly in size and quality, so be sure to choose wisely, and I'd you like a view, pay more for the lake front spots. There appear to be many activities in the summer, including a zip line, boat rental, hiking, and swimming.

Beautiful Views
My husband and I stayed the weekend and had a blast. View from D55 was great. No sewer hook up on this site but for the weekend that was fine. Bathrooms were clean but dated. We were there on spring break weekend so almost a festival type atmosphere:) can’t wait to go back!

Great park.
Probably the nicest park I’ve been too. Look at the map and you can get a huge site on the water with full hookups and plenty of room.
