Overnight Parking

This "campground" is basically back-in, side-by-side parking spots next to a river where bears come to feed on salmon in spring and fall. B.C. Parks discourages bear-viewing here because visitors are not protected in any manner from bears or other wildlife. As already mentioned, the Betlarko Wildlife Viewing area is less than a mile south on Highway 20, and is staffed during September by B.C. Park workers. The viewing platform there is surrounded by electrified wire to discourage hungry grizzlies from feeding on humans instead of sticking to their salmon diet.

12 side by side parking places to camp. People camp here to try and watch bears fishing and not for a beautiful place to camp A little east of here is an established wildlife (bear) viewing area. In mid Sept, we were there 1 min before a grizzly appeared to catch fish.
